I will withhold his name at this point but one of the finest young men I’ve come across at Carver called me tonight asking if I knew of anyone looking to hire summer workers. He is an exceptional kid and is going to play college football for a small school in Alabama next fall. He said he’d do any kind of work and wants to save some money before he heads off to school.
So I am putting this out there to all of you. If you know of something, please leave a comment below and I will get in touch with you. He is a great kid – a good scholar, hard worker and was a key leader on the team. He was also one of the Ledger’s Dandy Dozen best players in the Valley. He has a strong faith. Please help him if you can.
Summer ManSchool starts next Wednesday morning at 6:30 a.m. in the Milgen Room at the Church. We’ll have music like in the Spring, prayer and then we’ll show a video clip from John Eldredge’s Walking with God. We will then break to our small groups and we will really emphasize the power of small group community and encourage you to plug in and stay connected with whatever group you join this summer.
If you haven’t been coming to ManSchool, this is a great time to start. It is ManSchool “Lite” – you don’t have to read the book, you can just come, watch the video and then spend some time with your small group. Feel free to bring a friend. We will be done with the video by 7am and that leaves up to 30 minutes for the small groups.
Thanks guys and I look forward to seeing you next Wednesday morning.
Strive to LiveUP!
